Instructions here apply to Windows PCs, but Mac users have a similar utility called MP3Gain Express for Mac. Download and Configure MP3Gain Most of the default settings in MP3Gain are optimal for the average user; the only recommended change is how the files are displayed on the screen. MP3Gain analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same volume. There is no quality lost in the change because the program adjusts the mp3 file directly, without decoding and re-encoding. WxMP3val is a free front-end for the MP3gain. I realize that when using MP3Gain to get all the tracks on an album to be at the same volume, I am to use the “Album Gain” function. But sometimes, when making compilation CDS (say a “Best Of “ CD by a particular artist), I run into the problem of some of the tracks not being in the 88.2 to 89.8 dB range in which most of my mp3s lie. Normal MP3Gain install for version 1.2.5. This is what most people will want to download. Normal MP3Gain, but with no installer. Exactly the same as the Normal install, but also includes the Microsoft Visual Basic run-time files. The VB run-time files only need to be installed on a computer.
